Sun Rise

Experiencing True Sadness

In my life so far I have been lucky not to experience TRUE SADNESS whether it be a favorite movie not playing, a best friend leaving my life, or words being said that can never be taken back. As I'm "internationally" famous by many on various media outlets such as Facebook, etc. people know that when I used to go out when I lived in Scotland I would be walking home as the trash trucks were going down the street picking up the many, many cans. It's very familiar to those "Sex and The City" folks who recall Carrie walking home in her "faux fur" and the trash truck driver hollering at her. Well I must say she might have been first to do that, but I did it while in Edinburgh, Scotland. Even though I would take Manhattan any day.

This morning was the exception. I was out for a reason. Peace & Tranquility entered my life this morning as I was hanging out with a new friend and having cocktails in the tranquility of the backyard. A hidden paradise in the center of Tulsa. While on my way home and arriving after 6am the sun was rising and it was a new day. Not knowing the morning had some news that was waiting for me. I found out a few hours later after my "post-cocktail" catnap that my Older brother Greg had died.

At that point I experienced the utmost version of TRUE SADNESS and I must say like a cocktail made by the wrong person at my favorite place on brookside in Tulsa it was not to my taste and I wanted to send it back. This case was I couldn't and was forced to drink. Forced to hear the news from my older sister Marlene who was with my Mom in the car as they were en route to Eureka springs, Arkansas.

My first reaction was "What?!"

After being almost 2 months of not speaking I knew Marlene's call was something that I did not want to hear. I have often assumed that she would be the bearer of bad news in regards to my father. I was braced & ready to hear that something bad had happened to him. As many cases in the past she was been the one that calmed me down during those "frantic" phone calls regarding whatever situation happened. Whether a stroke or a car wreck she was the messenger and while I don't know why Mother couldn't call, Marlene would and so this morning I thought..."Something happened to Dad"

I was totally UN-PREPARED for what I heard. Crying into a pillow wanting to scream was the next 10 minutes. I felt like an actress in a romantic movie losing one's love, but this not being a love, but a brother who I loved very much.

I have learned over the years, that I have a gift for expression. Whether it be when my best friend Kim & I are out @ Cosmo's Cafe in Brookside or one of our many hangouts...I have the gift for expressing the obvious and the not so obvious. Saying things that most people are only thinking.

Blogging has been a therapeutic guide over the years. Reviewing my blog moments ago tells me that I have been LUCKY as I don't see many posts regarding the intensity that I am feeling now. I have been untouched so far until now. I can only think of myself at first, I'm going to miss him and eventually as I process the emotions I will lend an ear to others and consider all comments on Facebook a god send. Thank you so much all my friends and associates on FB that have said something. Some knew Greg and most didn't. Most know me and know how he meant to me.

Emotionally blogging is my Therapist @ the moment. More to continue once I can see the screen to type.

Royal Wedding on my mind...

How much is the Royal Wedding on your mind? On my mind it's almost at a point that is peaking my curiosity. Like a cat I am wondering what is going on over there and what a fun time it might be to wonder what is going on while I'm over there...

I have a good friend that is over there on "Holiday" and my other 2 friends whom I haven't seen since I was there last during last fall/winter are there too and I'm wondering if they are going to rejoice in the festivities.

I wasn't old enough to remember the "BIG" wonderful wedding of Charles & Di back some 30 years ago, but now I can't help but think that watching it on the "Tele" will just not do.

I'm thinking an e-mail to "Dawn C." & both Steffi & Anna are in order to set up some type of plan.

Of course, people are telling me that no more places to stay are available, but my trusty network of places are not on the radar of mainstream society so once I check and everything is at it should be then I will pounce on the chance to leave ASAP.

To be in the midst of the magic and the fairy tales would be magical. Note I do use the word "Fairy" very loosely...LOL

More to come once I do my research and find out...

Fabulous & Passing in DTW

Passed the test!

It wasn't quite a 100% ,but it wasn't a 94% so we'll just say it's between the 2 #'s just listed. A nice way to end my experience with Delta mainline training for the week! 3 days has passed by very quickly and now it's time to eat @ Chili's in A Concourse and then find my gate and @ the moment it's in B concourse until it changes again!

So far being an ALA is quite nice...

Saturday morning I'll be bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready for business!

Time to order some queso and chips and be "me" just fabulous of course...

Int'l Fabulous in DTW

For all of those that don't know what DTW is then it's DETROIT. A good friend of mine compared it to the toilet, so hence it shall be known as De'Toilet... The airport is quite nice though, and I'm up here on Co. business so it's just one of many small sacrifices I must make to continue to be who I am. What is up next?! After the fabulous Miss Anna G. returns from Uganda then we are going to plan a reunion and then I hear London is in my future as well as possibly South Africa to see a friend that I knew back when I used to live in the United Kingdom! Next week though is a trip to Peru (LIMA) and I must remember to get "Carmen" to sign up for Friday! Ciao for now my fellow int'l fabulous peoples! xoxo -JJW

Music Remembers for us

As I'm sitting here waiting for my coffee to brew I am bombarded by specific memories from each song and/or music video that is playing in front of me.  For example, the music video "Hush, Hush; Hush, Hush" by the PussyCat Dolls, was playing whilst my friend Anna G, her friend Chris and I were having dinner @ the famed Lasseter's Casino in Alice Springs.  We were outside on this fabulous patio deck enjoying our chips with tomato sauce, herbed salad, and a fabulous scotch filet.  Outside near the entrance into the casino were huge monitors and the one I was looking at the time showed the very same video I was just watching.  Instantly all the conversation, laughter, and great food became a part of that music video for me.  Forever reminding me of an experience that was not expected, but was a great treat to the senses.  What music brings back specific memories to you?

Choices for 29+1

Choices for later this year

As some of you may or may not know I am having my 1st anniversary of my 29th birthday in Australia.  I'm puzzled though by the 5 choices I have for locales of the party.  Some are North, South, East and Far West.  

Shall it be one of these 5 choices?

-Port Douglas, QLD (Been there back in 2005 and loved every minute of it.  It's very Malibu-ish and has a look of deliciousness to the entire town.  I could see myself living there one day)

-Sydney, NSW (Been there more times than I can count on one hand.  It's a cleaner version of NYC and quite fabulous if you know where to look.  One of my best friends lives there and there is not a shortage of activities and/or clubs to venture out to, but it is just a city afterall)
-Tasmania (Also known as "Tassie" by some, it's the island state far south of the continent.  It's a new place that I have never been before and has some fabulous beaches and has opportunities that I can't wait to explore, but shall they be on the big day or during my birthday holiday)
-Darwin, NT (Far north nearest to the equator it's another new place, but thanks to my friend Steffi Fasora she has educated me on what to do and when to do it there.  It might be a very nice alternative for the big day)

-Great Barrier Reef (Outer reef locale with a chartered boat for the evening all the way over night to the morning.  It would be on the far edge of the reef where the ocean floor drops dramatically to depths that scare me.  During the day there would be snorkeling, scuba diving, and sunning ourselves.  @ night it would be a fabulous meal on board the boat with swimming and all sorts of suprises...)

When typing all of this I think my choice is very simple.  Why not go back to where it all started.  Port Douglas beaches are gorgeous, but if I am to limit myself to beaches, then 5 more choices enter my mind.  What shall they be?  =)

Just Installed a Fabulous new Widget for Miss MacBook!

This brand new widget operates on my dashboard and for you all that are smart enough to own a mac then you know what I'm talking about...

I'm so excited!  EZ blogging is now a reality!

Birthday morning!

It's my birthday today! Officially started at 1:11am and it's been fabulous so far. Elaine and I had a fabulous feast the night before on the 10th in celebration of my soon to be birthday. We started off with some curry & raisin crostinis with marinated button mushrooms, with sundried tomatoes and capers with Kalamata olives & then moved on to a loaded salad with fresh herbs, spring mix and a fabulous infusion Italian vin. Then I was treated to her famous "spaghetti & sauce" then we had parmesan asparagus to go along with that and then for dessert a frozen turtle cake...Love, Love, Love Caramel!

Now I'm back home and it's about 753am or so and the drive from Skiatook was horrible! Traffic onto Hwy 75/244 South is sooooo bad! Made it through that and now I am going to take a fabulous birthday catnap then get ready for lunch later. Kim is going to take me out and I think we're going to be @ Stonehorse Cafe @ Utica Sq. Can't wait!

This Fabulous birthday has just begun! & to all so far that have posted their fabulous birthday wishes for me "Thank you so much" it means so much!!! Really really made this day "Absolutely Fabulous"

Another birthday is around the corner! Oh, wait it's tomorrow!

G'morning Everyone! Today is my last day of being 28 and @ 1:11am tomorrow morning I officially turn 29 and have 1 year till I celebrate the big birthday. Luckily next November I'll be back in Australia celebrating it "Aussie" Style.Tonight I'm heading to Elaine's for dinner & cocktails and we'll be up when 1:11am comes around and I can't think of a more fabulous way to usher in year 29! Have a great day everyone! =(

On the menu tonight are various assortments of savory items. Olive tapenade & Hummus with curry & raisin crostini's. A fresh herbed mixed green salad with cukes, red onion and a fabulous italian infused vin. Elaine's famous homemade spaghetti with fresh roasted garlic bread & fresh vegetables steamed. Then for dessert a fabulous pumpkin cheesecake!

Cocktail hour (hour will be turned into all night) will be an assortment of pomegranate cocktails and chardonnay!

MMM can't think of anything better to celebrate an early birthday! Early Happy birthday to me!

Post Bush Camping in OZ

I made it!
I loved it!
What more can I say?!

All the group was fabulous, the whole lot of us and there were 21 plus Jake! Jake was our fabulous tour guide and well I must say it was a very NIIIICCCCEEEEE bush camping experience!

Today though is what I'm going to chat about for a few minutes! My kiwi soul mate (Anna G.) & I are going to the gorge here in Alice Springs and we're going halvies on a car and it's a full size ford something. EEEEks I know FORD. Fix Or Repair Daily!!!
Ohhh during the camping trip I took over 2500 pics!!!

I'm not waiting on Anna to meet me at the rock office which is where the tour started from and then we have to go back and get my computer and get going exploring. We're both leaving on Saturday. she's back in Melbs and I'm back in Brizzy!

I am so excited and loving life. Missing my friends and Oh, Kim! I won the bet. Not only stayed on the camel, but won the RACE!!!
They were racing camels!!!

Anyways I'm gonna focus and think of what I need to go. Love you all so much and I'll see you next week and the next next one.
